About atopic dermatitis
Atopic dermatitis is a form of eczema involving itch, dryness and flares. Skin-barrier and immune factors contribute. It is not always caused by a food allergy.
A plan suited to the child
Assessment considers age, affected areas, sleep and signs of infection. Gentle cleansing, regular moisturization and prescribed treatment when needed are parts of care. Restrictive diets or indiscriminate allergy testing should not be started without medical assessment.
