Botulinum toxin (Botox)

Individual Botox planning for facial and neck lines, bruxism and suitable chronic migraine cases.

What is it used for?

Botulinum toxin can soften expression lines on the forehead, between the eyebrows and around the eyes. In selected patients it may also soften neck platysma bands and certain neck lines and support a more rested facial appearance. We assess facial and neck anatomy to plan treatment individually.

Bruxism and chronic migraine treatment

For selected patients with bruxism and related jaw-muscle symptoms, masseter injections may be planned alongside dental assessment and other treatments. In suitable adults with chronic migraine, botulinum toxin may be used within a treatment plan based on neurological assessment. Migraine treatment follows a different injection and dose plan from facial aesthetic treatment.

Before treatment

Tell your doctor about medicines, previous Botox treatments, pregnancy or breastfeeding. Do not stop prescribed blood thinners yourself. Mention any active infection in the treatment area.

After treatment

Stay upright and avoid lying down for the first 4 hours. Do not rub or massage treated areas. Avoid strenuous exercise, saunas and very hot baths for 24 hours. A review is usually planned at about 2 weeks.

When should you contact us?

Contact the clinic about unexpected symptoms. Difficulty breathing or swallowing requires emergency medical care.
