What is it used for?
Chemical peels may be used for selected pigmentation, some forms of acne and surface-texture concerns. The peel is selected for your skin and the condition being treated.
Before treatment
Discuss retinoids, acids, other active products, medicines and cold sores. Mention recent tanning, waxing or procedures. Your doctor will specify any pause in products.
After treatment
Do not pick peeling skin or scabs, scrub or exfoliate. Use the recommended gentle cleanser and moisturizer, and protect the skin from the sun. Advice on restarting makeup, retinoids and acids depends on peel depth.
